It's just more fun to me, really, I'm not too sure how to explain it. It let us look at the levels from a routing perspective and just find neat stuff that isn't spamming blast on a wall.
I find that it's a nice change in pace that you don't immediately start with everything, and have to go through the game earning your upgrades. The reason we started doing this type of run is because we found blast to be incredibly broken and just didn't want to use it :P
